Business Placement
If your degree course has a sandwich element to it, here’s an opportunity to build some valuable industry experience during your penultimate year at university and get ahead with your professional qualification. It’s also a great opportunity explore international opportunities and find out if C&W is the place for you.
You’ll be working alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on everyday projects, so you can expect to gain a proper insight into working life at C&W. We are currently offering opportunities in Building Surveying within the UK and also some international opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe. Our 10-month business placements commence in September 2012.
You will need to be studying an accredited RICS undergraduate degree and for all opportunities you’ll need to demonstrate a good academic record, have a real passion for property and understand what you would be doing on a daily basis in your chosen area. You will also have a full understanding of the professional qualification that you will be working towards. Throughout the recruitment process you will be able to show how you’ve used your initiative and team-working skills and will have conducted plenty of research into the area of C&W you’d like to join.
What Will I Be Doing?
You’ll undertake the same work and training as our first-year graduate intake, contributing towards a range of projects on behalf of our clients. You will be seen as an integral part of a highly skilled team. The work can be demanding at times – but you will gain an exceptional understanding of how property works at an early stage of your career. It will also provide you with a great opportunity to build and work on your commercial awareness and interpersonal skills, areas which are more difficult to develop outside of the working environment which will make a real difference when you return for your last year at university.
How Will It Benefit Me?
We would like your placement to be the first stepping stone on the road of a full-time career with us. You will complete 10 months experience that will count towards the completion of the APC during the programme, returning to complete a further year of training once you have obtained a 2:1 in your final year.
Am I Eligible?
You’ll need to be studying for a RICS accredited undergraduate degree and able to commit to taking 10 months to complete a business placement in your third year. You will be on course for a minimum 2:1 classification. You will have researched the career and have a full understanding of the services that we provide as a firm and also what the graduate programme entails.
